#Warfare: Prayer and Fasting Guide week 2

In a typical battle your position can determine whether you win or lose. If you come in to war from a disadvantages position, you stand a high chance of losing. Cities and battle fronts are carefully selected and built such that there would be an advantage to win in case of an attack. The Webster dictionary defines ‘vantage’ as “a position giving strategic advantage, commanding perspective, or comprehensive view.

Christians in the battle, against powers and principalities and the rulers of this world, do so from a vantage position. We have a strategic advantage as we have the ‘Almighty God’ on our side. This immediately put our enemies at a losing position. This battle we are on in not a contest of equals. Christ won the victory once and for all. Through our faith in Christ we become Children of God.

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1John 3:1 ESV). We are also armed for the battle with weapons that are superior to the enemy’s strategies.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. (2Co 10:4-6 ESV)

This week as we continue with our warfare, we shall be focusing on our identity in Christ. Declare these over your life. Pray that the Truth about what God says about us will be revealed afresh this week.
